Construction starts — Work has begun on the foundation for a new Centra Care location in Orange City. The free-standing facility at 1340 Saxon Blvd. will be affiliated with Florida Hospital Fish Memorial and should open by this summer.

Construction is underway for Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s first free-standing urgent-care facility in Orange City.

The new 5,000-square-foot location, at 1340 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, will be a Florida Hospital Centra Care urgent-care facility and is expected to open in June.

“Florida Hospital Centra Care provides excellent care, and I know families in our area will be thrilled to have a fast and convenient option for urgent care,” said Rob Deininger, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial CEO. “We will undoubtedly continue to invest further in West Volusia in the coming years, as we focus on our continuum of health and growing with the community.”

Florida Hospital Centra Care is the area’s only hospital-affiliated urgent-care provider that will serve as another access point for those who need medical care.

From coughs, colds, infections, allergies and flu, to broken bones and other orthopedic conditions, Florida Hospital Centra Care’s team of board-certified, adult- and pediatric-trained doctors will be available for families seven days a week.

Florida Hospital Centra Care offers on-site labs, and other immediate health care services such as X-rays, EKGs, stitches, physicals, blood pressure testing, immunizations, and more.

This facility will be the 36thFlorida Hospital Centra Care in Florida and the second in West Volusia. In November 2016, a Florida Hospital Centra Care opened in DeLand.

“Deltona, DeBary and Orange City residents no longer need to travel to Sanford to be treated by Florida’s premier urgent-care provider,” said Scott Brady, M.D., CEO of Florida Hospital Centra Care. “Our newest facility will provide the community with easy access to the quality urgent-care services Florida Hospital Centra Care is known for.”

Florida Hospital Centra Care offers an online, no-wait reservations system, so patients can schedule to see a doctor when it’s convenient. Knowing that injuries and illnesses can happen at the most unexpected moments, however, walk-ins are always welcome.

Employers and employees can also take advantage of the wide variety of occupational medicine offered by Florida Hospital Centra Care, which includes pre-employment and workers’ compensation services, such as employee physicals, treatment of work injuries, and drug and alcohol testing for public and private employers of all sizes.

As the largest hospital system in the area, the Florida Hospital East Florida Region has 923 beds and more than 6,000 employees.
