Rachel Ebert, a lifelong resident of West Volusia, has opened a private law practice in Downtown DeLand to focus on family law, estate planning and property law.

An official ribbon-cutting with the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce was held Feb. 16, but the office actually opened Dec. 1 at 100 W. Indiana Ave.

Ebert served as an assistant state attorney for four years, then became a civil attorney, before opening her own practice.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Bob Apgar noted that Ebert, a graduate of DeLand High School, was a participant in one of the early classes of the School of Government, a joint effort of the City of DeLand and Volusia County Schools.

“It’s always nice to have another local professional business in town, particularly when it’s one of our own,” Apgar said.

Ebert is proud to be practicing in Downtown DeLand.

“If you love DeLand, DeLand will love you back,” she said.

According to a bio on her website, Ebert is a fifth-generation resident of Volusia County. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctorate from Liberty University School of Law.

She became a member of the Florida Bar in 2011 and then joined the State Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases. After four years as a criminal trial attorney, Ebert joined the DeLand law firm Landis Graham French, P.A., where she became a civil litigator practicing family law, contract disputes, property law and personal injury.

Ebert serves on a wide assortment of organizations within the legal profession and in the community, and is a graduate of Leadership West Volusia, Class XXVII.

The Law Office of Rachel D. Ebert, P.A., can be reached at 386-873-7835 or online at www.DeLandLegal.com.
