Adventist Health System has appointed David Ottati, current CEO for Florida Hospital Waterman, to serve effective May 1 in a new role as president/CEO of the Central Florida Division - North Region, formerly known as the Florida Hospital East Florida Region.
“The recent passing of our friend and colleague, Rob Fulbright, has left a permanent void in our hearts that will never be filled. There were many plans and projects that Rob was pursuing and it is important that we honor him by prayerfully selecting an executive leader that will advance Rob’s vision, as well as accelerate a seamless transition,” Terry Shaw, Adventist Health System president and CEO, said in a news release.
Adventist Health System’s Central Florida Division is now composed of two halves: North Region and South Region.
The Florida Hospital East Florida Region will now be called the Central Florida Division - North Region, and it will encompass Lake, Volusia and Flagler counties, as well as the strategic development of markets adjacent to and north of those areas. This now includes Florida Hospitals DeLand, Fish Memorial in Orange City, Flagler in Palm Coast, Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Oceanside in Ormond Beach, New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach, and Waterman in Tavares.
The Central Florida Division - South Region will include all Orlando-area Florida Hospital facilities. Ottati will report to Daryl Tol, president/CEO of both Adventist Health System’s Central Florida Division and the South Region.
Ottati began his career with Adventist Health System in 1996 as a management resident. Since then, he has held various roles, including program administrator for Florida Hospital for Children, administrator for both Florida Hospital Wauchula and Florida Hospital Lake Placid, and chief executive at both Florida Hospital Flagler and Florida Hospital Waterman.
In addition to Ottati’s service on the executive level within the Central Florida Division - North Region, he also has served on the boards of directors at Florida Hospital Flagler, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. He became familiar not only with their operations, but also with many of the physicians, staff and community members in the region.
Ottati and his wife, Wendy, have four children and together enjoy outdoor sports, traveling and photography.
The search for a new CEO at Florida Hospital Waterman is underway.
